Stewart Joins The Center Board

Jackson, WY – Center for the Arts Board of Directors welcomed Karen Stewart as their newest member during the June 20, 2018 meeting.

Jackson, WY – Center for the Arts Board of Directors welcomed Karen Stewart as their newest member during the June 20, 2018 meeting. Karen Stewart received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wyoming. She was the Executive Director of the Art Association of Jackson Hole from 1994 to 2011.

She has been recognized for her leadership in the arts with the receipt of the 2003 Governor’s Art Award and the 2004 Cultural Council of Jackson Hole’s Award for Creativity. She is a founding Board Member for Center for the Arts and helped develop and guide this collaborative community arts center.

She served on the Wyoming Arts Council Board from 2011 to 2018 and is past chair of the council.

Karen was treasurer of the “WE CARE ” SPET campaign for St. John’s New Living Center, volunteers for St. John’s Hospital Foundation art acquisition committee, is a mentor with Womentum, and is a Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Ski Host.

Karen and Dick Stewart have lived in Jackson for 46 years and raised their family here. All three girls danced with Dancers’ Workshop, took art classes from Art Association, and volunteered for the Art Fair for many years.
